"Are you a vulnerable person?


I’m open and I must always be open to experiment, to the natural world. Walter Pater was right when he said “Failure is the form of habits” and one of the worst habits is to become adept to your surroundings to become so used to everything that you no longer notice it and you no longer notice the face of the person you love perhaps if you lived together for twenty years you no longer notice the things you bought with such excitement decorated your household that you no longer notice the feels in the natural world. Now that’s deadness and the artist cannot be dead and the artist is always rearranging things in a way to say to the onlooker see look at here it is its what you thought you knew but its different isn’t its not the shock of the new it’s the shock of the familiar arranged so that we can actually really see it. And that is very vulnerable so that way I suppose I must be."
